How I won 1st place in Rare contender In Season

Gameweek 10 was a special one for me. My first podium this year and second overall in my Sorare Career, and as my first podium late last season, this too was a gold medal. When I saw I was ranked 1st overall in In Season Rare Contender the second out of 3 nights of games for the gameweek, I wasn't too optimistic it'll hold, but eventually I manged to snag the win and go home with cash prize.

So how did I build my lineup that week? I don't consider myself to be the most brilliant basketball mind out there, but here's what I had in mind as I was building the lineup:

In with the Luka-less Mavs

Firstly, I knew I was going to go heavy on the Mavericks with Luka being out. It helped I had some of their in season cards as I'm collecting them to boost my bonus on the IS Rare Luka. PJ Washington was a no brainer to me as I considered him the second guy next to Kyrie to get the most action. Naji Marshall was somekind of a flyer in my view as I had seen him as a role player who could post some good numbers if he gets hot on 3 or post some good defensive stats.

The real kicker for me though was Dinwiddie. From what I could tell most people were going with Jaden Hardy thinking he could be the main beneficiary from Luka's absence, but I saw all that in the more experienced Dinwiddie which ended up being the correct decision.

Trusting Miller and White

About the remaining 2 guys - Miller was also a staple for me, it was a bit dangerous though as he had only one game, but I saw that as an oppurtunity to differentiate myself even more from the pack as most people would prefer to play a guy with 2 or more games. Also, the fact that his game was against the weak backcourt defense of the Bucks made the pill easier to swallow. As for Coby White - I don't have any good reason why I played him. He's been putting up good numbers this season and was the best option I had in the remaining cap space. You do need a hefty bit of luck to win on Sorare after all too.
